Not to worry, this addiction is a positive self-esteem boosting one.  We work hard to apply the best possible set of eyelash extensions and make sure that our clients leave ecstatic.   It’s wonderful to see people happy and excited with their new confidence; their new lashes (especially lash virgins). And we do our best to inform you on how to keep your wonderful new lashes.  Yes, the process can be tedious (appointments can  last from one-and-a-half hours to a little over two hours sometimes, you can always nap during the application), but the end result is worth it.  Your lashes are longer and much fuller, plus your makeup routine is cut in half—there’s no need to curl your lashes or coat mascara on them. And because they’re dramatic, you don’t need to wear any other eye makeup.  Here are the five tips that many of our clients have learned to help keep their extensions intact and looking good for a long time.

1. Sleep on your back. This might sound like a crazy request (unless you already sleep on your back), but it’s really important directly following your application, since the glue takes a while to dry fully and you’ll otherwise get weird kinks. After a night or two, resume your normal sleeping position.

2. Give your lashes a little—ok, a lot— of TLC. When removing your eye makeup (liner, shadow, etc.), gently go over the area with a cleansing wipe instead of placing cotton pads or puffs over your lids—not only could you eventually weaken the extensions and mess them up, the cotton fibers get stuck on lashes. 3. Use eyelash extension approved products. You’ve made the investment, use the right products.  Our professional and certified lash artists know the correct products that you can safely use on your eyelashes.  As part of the pre and post consultation we fully explain the ‘Do’s and Don’t’s’ to keep you lashes amazing.  We offer a full line of lash extension safe products right in our salon.   

4. Comb them out. To prevent any criss-crossing or wonky-looking lashes, use a spoolie wand. Close one eye, place the spoolie on top of your lashes, and then roll the brush over lashes to keep them defined.  The Brow Lady provides you with a free after-care home kit that includes a spoolie wand. 

5. Resist playing with them. Your eyelashes shed naturally, so when you have extensions, this will help push them off. If an extension looks out of place, avoid playing with it or twisting or pulling it off—you’ll risk losing your natural lashes. Let them come out on their own, and use a spoolie to brush them back into place in the meantime.

2-Minute Brows

These quick and easy tips are perfect for the brow beginner or someone who’s always on-the-go. It only takes a couple of minutes to achieve brows that look totally natural and polished.

• Focus your attention on the areas where the hair is sparse like the inner brow (A) and the tail (B).

• In sparse areas, apply Powder Brow Pencil or Natural Brow Powder with a slightly firmer touch for more concentrated color. Where your brows are dense, apply with a lighter touch (or less product).

• Fill in and blend brows using short upward strokes. This will help to unify the overall appearance of your brows.

Have a few extra minutes? These tips balance brows for total perfection. 1. Think of your brows as sisters, not twins. If one brow is slightly higher than the other, there’s a trick to building height to the lower brow. Using Powder Brow Pencil, build it up from the top and cheat it to create a lift. Pencil in your line or shape as high as possible so that it aligns with the higher brow.

2. Once you’ve raised your lower brow, move on to the higher brow and create your line or shape at the same level as the lower one and fill in.3. Now that you’ve got the shape, add Natural Brow Powder in a shade that matches your hair color. You can even use eye shadow. The most natural brows are not opaque all the way through. Eyelash Extensions are a popular new service and product that lengthens and thickens your own natural eyelashes. Lash Extensions are single strands of synthetic eyelashes that are curved to replicate a natural eyelash. They are applied to each individual natural eyelash one by one for a natural, beautiful and luscious look. Eyelash Extensions are perfect for special occasions or for day to day wear.

What do Eyelash Extensions look like when applied?
With proper application, meaning one synthetic eyelash applied to one natural lash the look and feel is completely natural looking and real. Noone will know you have extensions. They will just think you were born with beautiful, long lashes!

How long will a set of Eyelash Extensions Last?
When applied properly, eyelash extensions will last the length of the natural growth cycle of your eyelashes. Everyone’s experience will differ based on day to day activities but over all touchups should only be required every 2 to 3 weeks. A special waterproof bonding agent is used. Glue does not contain any fumes or irritants and is long lasting.

How often should I get touch-ups?
We recommend getting a touch up every 2 to 3 weeks. If you wait too long your eyelash extensions will fall out and you will require a full set. Your natural eyelashes fall off every 45 – 60 days due to the natural growth cycle and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Other factors such as expsoure to steam or touching your eyes alot may cause the extensions to fall sooner. A touch up is needed to fill in any lashes that fallen. Touch ups average about 45 minutes.

Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?
Yes, even though mascara is not really required since the extensions actually give the illusion of wearing mascara it can be worn.. It must however only be water based mascara. DO NOT USE OIL-BASED OR WATER-PROOF MASCARA. Waterproof mascara or any type of oil based mascara can dissolve the bonding agent and shorten the life of your eyelash extensions causing them to fall sooner. Care also needs to be taken in washing off the mascara. Only use a water based eye makeup remover.

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or visit a spa while wearing Eyelash Extensions?
Yes. The bonding agent we use is waterproof and allows you to shower, swim, exercise etc. Special care is required but overall maintenance is low. We do recommend however that you do not wash your eye area for about 12- 24 hours after the eyelash application.

Can I use Eyelash Curlers with Eyelash Extensions?
We do not recommend using mechanical eyelash curlers on your eyelash extensions as these curlers will damage the extensions and possibly your own natural lashes. The extensions do have a natural curl but if more of a curl is required we recommend using a heated eyelash curler.

How do I take care of my new Eyelash Extensions?

•  Do not get lashes wet for12- 24 hours
•  Avoid hot steam or sauna
•  Avoid running water directly on your lashes
•  Do not rub your eyes
•  Only use water based mascara (optional)
•  If applying mascara do so from middle to tip, avoid root area
•  Use water based eye makeup remover
•  Do not perm your lashes
•  Do not use a mechanical eyelash curler
•  Do not pull on your lashes (this may cause your natural lashes to come out prematurely)
•  DO LIE and say they are yours:)

Is the product FDA approved? Is it safe?
Currently the FDA is not regulating eyelash extensions because the eyelash extensions are applied to the natural eyelash hairs and do not touch the skin. The application process is pain-free and relaxing that most clients fall asleep during the procedure.

How long will it take to Apply Eyelash Extensions and how is it done?
The application process for lash extensions normally takes anywhere from 45 min. – 1.5 hours with someone who is experienced doing these. You will lay comfortably on a massage or facial table with your eyes closed. The Eyelash professional will then apply an under eye gel pad to cover your lower lashes . Then the extensions will be applied to each individual eyelash on a hair by hair basis.

How do I choose the look I want?
Eyelash extensions are available in a number of lengths and thickness. We normally consult with you first to see what type of style you are interested in. We also determine what your lashes can hold in regards to size. Each person’s lashes will vary in strength and length. We take this into consideration when creating a look for you.
